What is the difference between a guardian and a trustee?
A guardian is a person who is appointed to make decisions about the dependent adult as a person whereas the trustee is appointed to look after the financial affairs of the dependent adult. Most often, a joint appointment is made by the court order, in other words, the same person is appointed by the same order to be both guardian and trustee.
