At this point I would just like to get some information about family violence. Where can I go?

Places where you will find more information about family violence and your options include:

  • Local police, RCMP detachment, shelter, victims services unit.
  • Office for the Prevention of Family Violence which has many resources, also in other languages. Call 310-0000 (toll free) and ask for 422-5916.
  • Community Service Referral Line. In Edmonton, call 780-482-4636. In Calgary, call 403-268-4636.
  • VIOLET - www.violetnet.org (resources for victims of domestic violence)
  • RoseNet - www.rosenet-ca.org (resources for abused immigrant women)
  • OakNet - www.oak-net.org (resources for abused older adults)
  • Phone directory under Community Resources. Look under Crisis/Distress Lines, Family Violence and Shelters.
