What is meant by a computer program? Is it protected by copyright?
A computer
program is a set of instructions or statements, expressed, fixed,
embodied or stored in any manner, that is to be used directly or
indirectly in a computer in order to bring about a specific result.
Computer
programs are very definitely protected by copyright law. They are
treated as literary works for the purposes of the Copyright
Act.
