How do the Federal Child Support Guidelines work?

The Guidelines provide specific help in calculating child support. There is a chart for each province. Parents can look at the chart for their province, and find the minimum amount of child support payable (based on the number of children in the family for whom child support is payable and the income range of the paying parent).
