Must parents continue to make financial disclosure to each other
once the support order is in place?
In
some circumstances they do:
- If
a child support order deals with special
expenses or undue hardship, the
parent against whom the order has been made must disclose his
or her financial information upon written request from the other
parent.
- If
it was decided that a spouse did not have to pay support because
their income was less than the minimum, they must disclose their
financial information upon written request from the other parent.
- If
the income of the receiving parent was used to determine support
(e.g., shared custody), that parent
must disclose his or her financial information upon wirtten request
from the other parent.
Requests
cannot be made more than once a year after the original order is
made.
