National > Divorce > Federal Child Support Guidelines:

What happens if our situation places us under provincial child support laws?

Each province in Canada will have to decide whether to change its child support laws to make them conform with the federal government Child Support Guidelines. All the Canadian provinces have been consulted by the federal government and most provinces plan to draft new laws or change their existing laws so that the monetary amounts in the federal guidelines will be used to make provincial court child support orders.
