What happens if the custody assessment report recommends that my spouse gets custody of the children instead of me?

Judges give very serious consideration to these reports. If the report goes against your wishes, you need to think very seriously about how to proceed. You need to talk to your lawyer and see what options you have. You must face the possibility that you may be blinded by your own desires to what is best for your children. If you face this question squarely and still feel the assessor is wrong, then you have the option of having a custody hearing where you and your lawyer will have to show the judge why the assessor's report is wrong.
