If the divorce and the splitting of our property is final, why isn't custody final?Making decisions about children is more important (and more complicated) than dividing an RRSP, for example. Families and children change, and what is best for the children in 2006 may not be best for them in 2009. Judges must always be free to make decisions that are in the best interests of the children. This means that judges must always be able to review custody and make changes when necessary. July 2006 Back |
