Disponible en Français I am really worried about my sister. I have suspected for some time that her husband abuses her. I have been trying to speak to her for the last week but her husband says she is too busy. When I went to her house today her husband would not let me in and I am sure I heard my sister crying. Is there anything I can do?Yes. You can go to the police and tell them what you know. The Protection Against Family Violence Act allows the police to apply to a judge for a warrant permitting entry to a place where a family member may have been subject to family violence. You can also apply for an emergency protection order for your sister. December 2006
