Disponible en Français One of my roommates is moving out and we dont have anyone new to move in right away. Is he still responsible for his share of the rent?Yes, but you are all bound jointly to pay all the rent by your agreement with the landlord and so the landlord will expect the rest of you to pay the whole rent. If a tenant leaves, he is still bound by the rules set out in the tenancy agreement, for example, the obligation to pay rent. To deal with this issue, the tenant who is leaving can ask to be taken off the tenancy agreement. This new agreement should be in writing and signed by everyone to avoid later difficulties.
