Selling Property

I own a house that is rented out to two separate tenants. I have decided to sell the house and the tenants on the main floor have agreed to buy. Do I have an obligation to inform the tenant in the basement that I have sold the house?

You do not have an obligation to tell the basement tenant unless you agreed to this in the lease.

The new owners have an obligation to tell the tenants within a reasonable time that there is a new landlord, together with contact information so that future rent payments are made to the right person. The new landlord must also serve the tenants with a statement showing the current amount of the security deposit and interest.
